NOW THE POST:

i had to get up BRIGHT AND EARLY on a BEAUTIFUL sunday morning just to go to the temple for QING MING. argh!

i admire and respect those catholics and christians for their extremely strong faith. waking up early on as sunday morning just to go church is no mean feat eh! gosh.

so AS I WAS SAYING,
my whole family trooped off to something-something temple at BISHAN and WASN'T IT CROWDED!
the smell of incense and burning ashes were SATURATED and i was kind of choking. i'm sure those people who work in temples would have lots of lung problems. i really appreciate FRESH AIR.


*my dog is sniffling the laptop. SO CUTE!*

ANYWAY:
after a torturous and breathless one hour in the temple we headed home. temples are really eerie. imagine rows and rows of URNS. filled with the ashes of dead people... *shudders...*





RANTS:

-i dont like racist people.

i know some people like to crack racist jokes occasionally and have a good laugh. but their intentions are good natured and it's just all in the name of fun and humour.

but there are some people who are REALLY REALLY racist. like EW! you're _____! dont come near me. GET A LIFE DUDE! we're all humans and the blood that runs in us is all red!
[depending on whether its oxygenated or deoxygenated or else it would be kinda purple-ish]



so i read an article in the straits times on saturday. it's in the SATURDAY section[DUH!]
so this REPORTER went to stay in a foreign workers' dormitory for five weeks and he interviewed some of the workers there.


so, a few of them said that during a festive season, they greeted people walking on the streets and som turned up their noses and walked away from them, making them feel guilty for being even here.

those people who did that ARE SUCH ARROGANT SNOBS. this is a modern day society where equality is common. being of a majority race does not make you far more superior than any one of the minority.

&just because they are foreign workers, doesn't mean that they are should be looked down upon. the tasks they all those that WE SINGAPOREANS are too high-and-mighty to be doing. they should be respected and treated equally.
these foreign workers often have minimal education and use their hands to earn a living. similarly, a CBD office worker uses his brains to earn a living. in both cases they are earning an HONEST living so why should we look down on those foreign workers?


although there are some black sheep who do undeniably bad things, it does not mean that all foreign workers are bad. it's OVER generalising.

thus we shouldnt discriminate against foreign workers as they, LIKE EVERYONE ELSE is just trying to earn an honest liiving.
